Joanna Carnes is a licensed psychotherapist who has worked with individuals and families. She has enjoyed focusing on volunteer endeavors, including school PTA/Booster Boards and running free support groups for the Alzheimer’s Association to help families in transition. In 2015, she created and grew Moms of Moorpark, a large online community group aimed at local connection for the greater Moorpark Community.

Joanna and her husband, Adam, grew up locally, in the Conejo Valley.  They moved to Moorpark after the birth of their 2nd child. Both children began their education in Moorpark public schools and continue to prosper from the enriching learning environment that MUSD provides.

Joanna holds a Bachelor of Science in Psychology and Music from the University of California, Berkeley and a Master of Science in Counseling Psychology from California Lutheran University.  She’s excited to support the mission of the Moorpark Education Foundation.
